CrossFit is an extremely efficient and effective way to get into great shape. Our goal is to improve your ability in ten recognized fitness domains: cardio-respiratory endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance and accuracy.  The result is comprehensive physical fitness and restored vitality.

Our classes and private coaching are based on the CrossFit program originally developed by Greg Glassman after his many years of watching, working with, and coaching all types of people.  Our coaches will guide you through workouts that are constantly varied, functional movements,  performed at high intensity in a team atmosphere. Essentially, a fun, friendly, yet high-intensity boot camp, with weights.

Constantly Varied

This simply means that, just as in life, each day will present a different challenging workout. At CrossFit Utica you (yes, you!) will run, jump and row. You will work on push-up, pull-ups, sit-ups and other gymnastics based movements.  You will practice squats, deadlifts, presses, and Olympic Lifting. Each day will bring different movements and exercises that are designed to work every aspect of your fitness. 

Functional Movement

"Functional Movement" refers to movements that you will encounter in your daily life. At CrossFit Utica, you will not find any machines – instead, you will find barbells, pull-up bars, gymnastic rings, kettlebells, medicine balls, sleds, and open space for running, jumping, climbing, lifting, and throwing. Using these tools, the coaches at CrossFit Utica will teach you the safest and most efficient positions to maximize fitness and minimize sickness.

Probably the most challenging for new athletes to grasp.  Although difficult, working out at high intensity will allow you to spend the least amount of time possible working out while at the same time maximizing your results.  This is where the magic of CrossFit happens.  This allows you to break down barriers and set new standards for yourself.  The training is intense and it creates a bond among other athletes that cannot be faked or manufactured. Experiencing difficult times with other athletes will build a supportive, competitive, strong and humble community like no other and we would love for you be a part of that community at CrossFit Utica.
